March 9 – St. Patrick’s Day Turn the Bayou Country Green – The members of Fir Mairseail Nua Iberia, Grand Marshall Jerry Shea, local dignitaries and representatives, and Special Olympians will join Mayor Freddie DeCourt as he opens the valve to turn the plaza fountain water Irish green. The minstrel group Whiskey Bay Rovers will entertain the crowd with Irish and traditional music and dance.
