Lafayette Science Museum (LSM) with the support of Acadiana Amateur Radio Association (AARA) will be offering an 8-week ham radio course every Tuesday at 5:30pm starting July 16th, 2019 at LSM. After the successful completion of the test the student will be awarded an FCC Technicians Class license for ham radio operation. This course is open to anyone and lasts 8 weeks. CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocate, is an organization that helps advocate for abused and neglected children. CASA of SoLA covers the 15th Judicial court including Lafayette, Acadia and Vermillion parishes. On average, CASA of SoLA represents approximately 200 children per year. When a child is removed from their home, they are placed in a foster home within 2-4hrs.
