They took their last breath in a foreign country for YOU! WWII to today, we have lost 21 men
that called Church Point their home. ELEVEN of them were between ages 18 and 21 years old.
Memorial Day, while a sacred day for veterans, is sadly overlooked by many Americans who have lost touch with the true meaning of this ever-important day. For many, it is no more than a celebration to kick off the summer, but together, we can change that. While we’ll never be able to repay those, who gave all in defense of our nation. This time offers us a great opportunity to honor them and educating our children.
On behalf of the VFW Post 9903 and American Legion Post 225, we would like to invite you and your family to the Church Point Depot (at POW MIA Blvd & Main St.) this Memorial weekend. From sunrise to sunset, all 3-days, we will have a display to honor our 21 fallen Heroes. We veterans are doing this to give family, friends and community a time to remember and heal.
