A Soldier’s Story at Vermilionville

The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, Vermilionville will host many of our country’s earliest soldiers. Come and meet with the men and women of Louisiana that fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the American Civil War, and more. Learn from historical reenactors and interpreters about their weapons, their equipment, how they fought, and what they ate away from home.
In homes throughout the village, Vermilionville interpreters and artisans will be telling the stories of those on the home-front, as well as sharing ways in which they supported those fighting away from home.
