Joe Burrow Becomes First LSU Heisman Trophy Winner In 60 Years

Joe Burrow edged Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts, Ohio State QB Jalen Fields and Ohio State defensive end Chase Young for the 2019 Heisman Trophy.

Burrow had an incredible season, throwing for over 4,700 yards and 48 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions.

LSU will face Oklahoma on December 28th in one of two playoff games. With a win, the Tigers will play for the National Championship in New Orleans against the winner of Clemson and Ohio State.

Burrow is only the second LSU player to win the Heisman. Billy Cannon won the honor following the 1959 season.
