The wide receiver was cut by New England on Friday, the team announced. He played one game for the team in a 43-0 win this past Sunday over the Miami Dolphins.
In a team statement they said:
“The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time,”
Three days after joining the Patriots on Sept. 10, Brown was hit by a civil suit filed by his former trainer alleging sexual assaults on three different occasions. The woman, Britney Taylor, met with the NFL and its investigators for 10 hours on Monday.
Another woman came forward this week in an interview with Sports Illustrated accusing Brown of sexual harassment. That woman, an artist Brown hired to paint a mural in his home, alleged Thursday that Brown had sent threatening texts this week since she went public.
