The Glow in the Cro, Hot Air Balloon Festival is going on this weekend at Carencro’s Pelican Park. Gates open at 4:00 this afternoon (Friday), with Carnival Rides beginning at 5:00 and entertainment starts at 5:30. Clay Cormier and The Highway Boys take the stage at 8:30 tonight. Tomorrow, (Saturday) the arts and crafts market begins at 9 am, with carnival rides beginning at 11:00. Live Music on Saturday from Jamie Bergeron and The Kickin Cajuns (3 pm), Greg Martinez and The Delta Kings (5:30), and Dustin Sonnier and The Wanted. (8:30)
Now let’s talk about the main attraction, Hot Air Balloons! Both tonight and tomorrow night, the ‘Glow in the Cro’ happens at 7:30 pm, up to 20 hot air balloons with light up the night!!
Hot air balloon flights are available to the public at 6:30 am on Saturday and Sunday morning. If you want to check a hot air balloon flight off your bucket list, you will have to fill out a form before you head to Glow in the Cro. Here’s the link to the form and more information. If you are not up to flying 1,000 feet in the air, tethered flights will also be available.
