Actress Valerie Harper, best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern, has passed away. Harper was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in 2013. She had previously battled lung cancer. Valerie Harper was 80.
Harper first appeared as Rhoda on the Mary Tyler Moore show in 1970 and continued on the series until 1974. She was given her own show, “Rhoda”, which lasted until 1978. The role earned Harper several Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
