New Report From Energy Star Says Keep Your Home at 78 Degrees

There’s a new report from Energy Star that says you should keep your thermostat at 78 degrees when you’re home, and wait for it……..82 degrees at night!

People on Twitter are not buying it as one person said, quote, “I see we’ve decided to give up on sleeping.”

Energy consumption is important and we must take it into consideration, but I don’t think they asked anyone here in South Louisiana that question.

Here are the recommendations from Energy Star, which is the EPA program that promotes energy efficiency.

Your thermostat should be set at 78 degrees when you’re home, 85 when you’re not home and 82 degrees at night!
