It’s Back-to-School time in Acadiana! With the exception of Evangeline, St. Martin and Lafayette parishes, most students in the area have already made it back to the classroom. (As of Friday, August 9th)
With kids headed back to school, parents are digging back into their pocketbooks. According to a story from Retailmenot.com, the average parents will spend $507 on back-to-school shopping this year, which is up $42 from last year.
That amount seems to be a far cry from our days of Trapper Keepers, those ‘4 ink’ Bic pens, and bank bags being used as a pencil case.
Safety is also a huge concern too! From school zones to cell phone use and even when to stop for school buses. If you are not sure of when to stop for a school bus, please refer to the graphic below.
