An officer with the Longmont Police Department in Colorado recently pulled over a man who used a bottle of red Gatorade in place of his missing taillight.

Police say the man works for an oil company and is out of town every couple of weeks. He said he was on the way to the stop to get the taillight repaired and an officer admitted to spotting the man at the shop later in the day. The man was not given a ticket.
In a post on Facebook, the Longmont Fire, Police and OEM said:
“While we appreciate the ingenuity of this tail light, this is not a permanent solution. Working tail lights prevent accidents.”
