Berkeley, California is continuing on the progressive path to change classic language into more gender-neutral language.

The city is going forth with a $600 effort to remove terms such as “manhole” and “manpower” and replace them with “maintenance hole” and “human effort,” respectively. Words like “he” and “she” will be replaced by “they” and “them” in the city language.
