5000 students, from 1600 Schools representing at least 17 countries, attended the National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament in Dallas last week. The most successful school in the Tourney was Comeaux High School!
Comeaux won the School of Excellence Sweepstakes Award and is the first school in the tournament’s 90-year history to have three champions at one event.

Winning $1000 scholarships as Champions in their category were:
Rashon Leday in Prose, Jacob Foster for Dramatic Interpretation and Josh Mouton for Poetry.
In Program Oral Interp, Emily Guidry won a $500 scholarship, and making it into the top 60 in the Duo Interp were Jamie Jones and Taylor Mire.
