UL Warns Students and Faculty About Alligator Mating Season

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is warning students and faculty to beware of Cypress Lake after an alligator escaped on Thursday.

We are entering into alligator mating season, so experts say alligators will be very aggressive around this time.

If you do find your self on UL’s campus, please be mindful when around the lake and follow these tips – Stay at least 10 feet from retention walls, supervise your children, avoid bringing pets near Cypress Lake, and DO NOT feed or antagonize the alligators.
