National Hamburger Day is observed each year on May 28. The day celebrates a summer-time grilling favorite, also National Hamburger Day is part of National Hamburger Month.
In honor of #nationalhamburgerday, a recent survey from National Today, asked about our burger-eating habits
1. Favorite burger topping is cheese-
79% of Americans like cheese on their burgers – rest of the top five – lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles.
2. Favorite type of cheese to put on burgers is American-
next on the list cheddar, then Swiss, pepper jack and provolone.
3. Favorite burger chains –
McDonald’s, Five Guys, Wendy’s, Burger King, and Steak ‘n Shake.
4. The five cities that love burgers the most-
Seattle, Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, and Miami.
