The Aftermath of Mardi Gras in New Orleans

It’s just another Tuesday everywhere else, but in Louisiana….it’s Mardi Gras!! Sidney Donaldson Wedding Photography was able to take some pictures of the Mardi Gras ‘Aftermath.’  Sidney took some great pics and even a video of the cleanup process that goes into one of the biggest trash days anywhere.

According to the New Orleans Advocate, more than 500 workers descend upon the Uptown parade route and the French Quarter late Tuesday and early Wednesday to commence the final “parade” of the season: the cleanup of what regularly tops more than 1,300 tons of Mardi Gras refuse.”

A spokeswoman for Mayor Cantrell told The Advocate that “at least 608 tons of beer cans and booze bottles, Popeyes chicken containers, broken strands of beads and other debris had been picked up since the start of Carnival season.” That number is expected to rise as crews continue catalog the trash.

These are a few of the pictures from Sidney Donaldson, you can check out her full album on her Facebook page here!

Sidney was also able to get a video of the action too!
