Instead, the Who Dat Nation spent their time partying in various ‘boycott bowl‘ celebrations throughout the state. The Nielson Company is reporting that Super Bowl ratings in the New Orleans-area dropped by half this year. Last year, the city drew a 53 rating, but after a ‘non-call’ in the NFC Championship Game cost the Saints a Super Bowl birth, ratings plummeted to 26.2 During the regular season, New Orleans had the highest ratings of football viewing in the country.
Overall, it was the lowest rated Super Bowl in a decade.
CBS drew a 44.9 overnight rating for Patriots-Rams last night, which was lowest-scoring Super Bowl yet. That figure is lowest for Super Bowl since Steelers-Cards drew 42.1 in 2009. Boston market got 57.4 (best for game since 2015). L.A. market 44.6 (best SB in L.A. since 1996)
