Conspicuous consumption is as ingrained with the Big Day as that of other holidays such as Thanksgiving, though the nutritional factor may be inferior. Roughly 20 million pounds of potato and tortilla chips will be gobbled up at game time, along with 8 million pounds of avocados. Incidentally, antacid sales jump 20% that weekend.
