Saints Lineman Helps Save Man Trapped In Vehicle That Fell From A Parking Garage

We first heard about the story of a vehicle falling from a CBD parking garage yesterday afternoon, via WWL TV’s Facebook page. Bystanders, helped turn the vehicle right side up. Officials said the driver of a silver Mercedes SUV drove off the fourth floor of the parking garage and landed on the street below. At least one person was injured and brought to an area hospital, police said. This accident is still under investigation.


We now know, according to Yahoo Sports, New Orleans Saints DE Mitchell Loewen jumped into action!

Saints defensive end Mitchell Loewen was eating brunch with his wife and son on Sunday afternoon in downtown New Orleans when he suddenly heard what sounded like a “bomb or an earthquake.”

Loewen and others quickly ran outside and found a silver SUV lying upside down in the middle of the street. It had just plummeted from the fourth floor of a nearby parking garage.

Amid the chaos, Loewen jumped into action. He helped lead a crowd of bystanders to help free the man who was trapped in his car, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, potentially saving his life.
