The property value freeze program enables certain people to "freeze" the assessed value of their homes at the January 1, 2019 value. In other words, if your home in Lafayette Parish was valued at $100,000 as of January 1, 2019, the value of your home will be frozen until the home is sold or remodeled. In the event the property is sold, the special assessment level shall terminate on the last day of December in the year prior to the year the property sold. Values are subject to review before granting freeze.

Foster the Love Louisiana is based in Lafayette, LA. We were created to be a support and resource center for the local foster community. Our mission is to care for the children in the Louisiana foster system, support the families that care for them, and educate the community on the needs of the foster family.

With the state’s increased demands on foster parents and the continual increase of children in need of care, foster parents are overworked and underappreciated. The national average for foster homes closure is 30-50% each year. As a community we need to rise up to support those families that are willing to care for these children. We want to come alongside foster families and support them in their journey.
