Junior League Opens Grant Applications

Junior League of Lafayette’s Collaborative Opportunity Grant Application is now accepting grant applications. The Collaborative Opportunity Grant enables Junior League of Lafayette to offer local nonprofit organizations funding for short-term projects. In addition to monetary funding, Junior League of Lafayette volunteers are provided to assist in the planning, execution and completion of the selected project.

In the 2019-2020 League year, Junior League of Lafayette’s Collaborative Opportunity Grants Committee awarded $17,000 in grants and hundreds of volunteer hours to 13 local nonprofit organizations.

These annual grants are funded through Junior League of Lafayette fundraising activities such as Tinsel & Treasures, Kitchen Tour and sales of the League’s four member-written cookbooks. Junior League of Lafayette President, Angelle Adams, expresses the importance of these grants, “By awarding the Collaborative Opportunity Grants, Junior League of Lafayette is able to expand upon the impact that these nonprofit agencies make in the community. Our collective efforts combined are so valuable in improving the lives of women and children in Acadiana.”

This year’s deadline for grant applications is 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. All grant applications are to be submitted electronically to grants@juniorleagueoflafayette.com AND a printed copy must arrive via postal carrier or be hand-delivered to Junior League of Lafayette Headquarters, located at 504 Richland Avenue, by the deadline. Any application that is received after the deadline will not be considered.
