What do you love about music?
I love everything about music. I love how a song can instantly change your mood or make you feel something deep inside. Music has gotten me through some of the best times of my life and some of the worst times. No matter what music has always been there to carry me through life. Big 102.1 is playing “Hour Long Commercial Free Playlists” all day and that means you can listen while at work and cruise all day with so much music.
What do you like about being on the radio?
Radio is just in me. I personally never thought I would get the chance to do what I love and it still feels like a dream that I get to be on the radio. Being on Big 102.1 is so much fun and I absolutely love that I get to work with friends and spend my weekends with Acadiana.
Being on the air at Big 102.1 is a different kind of job. What’s it like to have such an unusual job where you play music at work?
Working in radio is definitely an unusual job but it is a job that is so fun it doesn’t really feel like work. I am the type of person who likes to smile, laugh, dance, and just have fun so I hope to bring that to the air when I am working. Big 102.1 has the perfect music to keep you moving through your weekend!
Who is your all-time favorite singer?
Oh this one is tough! There are so many to choose from but if I had to pick one singer it would be Carole King. When I heard her songs it immediately takes me back to when I was a child and my mom and I would dance around the house with the windows open.
What do you think makes being on the air in Lafayette so different than any other part of the state?
I have only ever worked in radio in Lafayette but I have lived in other parts of the state and there is something so special about this city. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming here, no one is a stranger here. This is home and I love being a part of this community and getting to know all of you.
Big 102.1 makes a big deal out of playing such a rich variety of superstar artists and different kinds of songs, how do you feel about playing so much music on the air in Lafayette?
I love music! If you were to look at my personal playlist it is quite overwhelming because you just don’t know what you might get next. I love that Big 102.1 plays such a big variety of music because you never know what you might get next. We both have that in common!
When you are on the air, how do you make it special for someone just tuning in to Big 102.1?
When I am on the air at Big 102.1, I think about what I would like to hear and I focus on that. I also want to make the listener feel like they are my friend and we are just hanging out and having a conversation.
