Employee Tricks Thief and Locks Him in Store

A Boost Mobile employee in Philadelphia, PA managed to trick a thief and lock him in the store until authorities arrived.

20-year old Shawn Brown attempted to rob two cellphone stores within an hour’s time frame in North Philadelphia.  The first location was a Metro PCS store, where an employee there described Brown as “calm and dumb,” as he was walking around flashing his gun with his face only half-covered.  The employee said Brown was being casual and flirtatious and didn’t really know what he was doing.  She explained that Brown was wasting his time robbing a store that doesn’t keep much money in its registers and also stole an older iPhone instead of one of the newer models.

Later, Brown attempted to rob a Boost Mobile store.  After Brown asked the clerk for money, the employee told him he cash was outside and that he was going to get the money from an employee outside of the store.  Brown agreed to stay inside and the clerk then locked the door and closed the security blinds on the windows.  Brown tried to shoot his way out of the store, but the glass did not shatter.

Police and a SWAT team arrived later to take Brown into custody.  Shawn Brown is facing 18-charges.
