Fred’s Inc. announced it will close an additional 49 stores including two located in Acadiana.
Lafayette and Carencro locations were part of the initial closures of 159 stores across the country in April, and the company says new closures are an effort to optimize the store’s footprint.

Affected by the closures are locations in Eunice at 2200 W. Laurel Ave. and in Church Point at La 821 S. Main St.
