Billionaire Larry Connor plans to dive to “Titanic-level depths” in a $20 million submersible to demonstrate the safety of personal subs after a tragic incident last year. He will venture into the ocean depths with Triton Submarines co-founder Patrick Lahey in a two-person submersible capable of diving to 4,000 meters. Connor aims to show that deep-sea exploration can be done safely and without disaster, following the implosion of the OceanGate sub that claimed five lives. The Titan submersible, which vanished during an attempted Titanic wreckage exploration, was found in pieces on the ocean floor by the U.S. Coast Guard.
