Cashews sold by Walmart in 30 states and online recalled due to allergens

An Elgin, Illinois-based nut supplier is recalling honey-roasted cashews sold in Walmart stores in 30 states due to potential undeclared coconut and milk content, according to the FDA. John B. Sanfilippo & Son is recalling 8.25-ounce Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews after a consumer reported finding coconut-flavored cashews in a honey roasted container. The FDA warns of potential allergic reactions to coconut and milk, urging consumers with allergies to discard the product or return it to Walmart for a refund. No adverse reactions have been reported, but the affected cans have a best before date of July 8, 2025, and were distributed to Walmart stores in multiple states.
