Jeff Bezos, the executive chairman of Amazon, sold nearly 12 million shares of Amazon stock worth over $2 billion in February 2024, according to a filing with federal regulators. The sale of 11,997,698 shares occurred on Feb. 7 and Feb. 8. Bezos, who founded Amazon in Seattle, notified the SEC of the transaction. Additionally, Bezos listed a proposed sale of 50 million Amazon shares with an estimated market value of $8.4 billion. Bezos, who stepped down as Amazon’s CEO in 2021, has been focusing on other projects like Blue Origin and philanthropy.
