Turkeys Are A lot Cheaper this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Turkey on the table

The average price of Thanksgiving turkeys has dropped by 22% compared to last year, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF). The decline in prices is attributed to a decrease in avian flu cases, which had caused a shortage of poultry and driven up prices. However, avian flu cases have started to climb again, which could impact the availability of fresh turkeys. Frozen turkeys are expected to have an ample supply, as they can be stored for up to a year. The average cost of a frozen turkey is $1.18 per pound, compared to $1.69 per pound for fresh turkeys.
