A British judge has ruled that a lawsuit brought by Prince Harry, Elton John, and five other celebrities against a newspaper publisher should proceed to a full trial. The claimants accuse the publisher of the Daily Mail of unlawfully gathering information by paying private investigators to bug homes and cars and record phone conversations. Prince Harry alleges that the publisher targeted him and his loved ones by hacking voicemails, tapping landlines, and obtaining phone bills and flight information. The judge ruled that the case can go ahead as the claims have a “real prospect of succeeding.”
