Netflix is officially ending its DVD-by-mail service after 25 years. As a parting gift, customers will be able to keep any discs they still have out and may receive up to 10 extra discs as part of the “finale surprise” promo. Netflix is also launching a DVD sleeping bag that looks like one of its red envelopes and has transformed its marquees in L.A. and New York City to thank its customers. The very first DVD that Netflix sent out was 1988’s “Beetlejuice” and the very last disc dropped in the mail was the Coen brothers’ 2010 “True Grit.”
