It’s a scenario that gives a rock star nightmares – thanking the audience at the end of a show, only to get the name of the city wrong.
It still happens – even to Elton John, who thanked ‘Arkansas City’ after performing in Kansas City, MO on Wednesday.
The tweet has since been deleted, but it read,
“What a great night @tmobilecenter in Arkansas City!”
Sir Elton is 74 years old and after decades of performing, he’s due for a brain flub every now and then. So, we’ll give him a pass.
Elton’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour continues in Chicago this weekend, then heads to Detroit next week.
