The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Acadia Parish Policy Jury, continues our litter abatement crew within our parish. During July, the inmate work crew picked up 404 trash bags of litter from around the parish. Inmates also picked up 12 tires and several pieces of discarded furniture.
This crew of inmates works approximately 4-5 hours per day, averaging over 20 bags of litter daily. In addition, the inmate crews rotate the various districts of the police jury to cover the entire parish by Jury Districts.
