Lafayette Little League Represents Louisiana in Super Regional

Lafayette Little League will represent Louisiana in the 2021 Little League Baseball Southwest Region Tournament.

 
 

Lafayette Little League defeated the 2019 Little League World Series Champion, Eastbank Little League 4-3 to win the Louisiana Little League State Championship.  Now the team, coached by former Ragin’ Cajun Scott Hawkins, Mitch Craft, and Steven Menard, will head to Waco, Texas for the Southwest Region Tournament.

 
 

The team departed Wednesday morning.

 
 


 
 

The tournament runs August 5 – 11 with some games scheduled to be aired on ESPN and ESPN2.  The 8 little league teams will represent the states of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Mississippi, Texas East, Texas West, Arkansas, and Louisiana with the winner of the tournament advancing to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania beginning August 19.

 
 

Louisiana will face Texas West Thursday evening, August 5th.
