‘Predator’ Screenwriters Suing Disney To Get Film Rights Back
The screenwriters of the 1987 film Predator are suing Disney to recapture the rights of the movie.
Jim and John Thomas, the brothers who wrote the film, are looking to take advantage of copyright law’s termination provision that allows authors to cancel transfers after a period of time which could spell the end of some other rights to other classic films from the era.
The movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and its popularity led to the whole Alien vs Predator franchise.
The Thomas brothers have been trying to retain the rights since 2016. Word is Disney is looking to reboot Predator.
