WATCH: Ken Jennings Honors Alex Trebek in First Show as Guest Host

Ken Jennings kicked off the first episode of Jeopardy! without Alex Trebek by honoring the legendary game show host and saying he was pretty much perfect at his craft for over 36-years.

Alex Trebek died in November 2020 at the age of 80 with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  The host missed only one Jeopardy! show in over 8,000-episodes when he switched with Pat Sajak to host Wheel of Fortune on April Fool’s Day.

A new, permanent host for the show has not been determined; the show will feature a series of guest hosts for now.  In the first episode, legendary contestant, Ken Jennings began the program with a heartfelt tribute to Alex Trebek.
