Study Says Rubbing Your Itch is Effective

A new study in the “Journal of Neuroscience” found that rubbing an itch is effective.

It may be a better idea to just rub itches from now on instead of scratching.  A new study found rubbing is an effective way to deal with the itch and doesn’t damage your skin like scratching does.  Plus, dirty nails… cuts… etc.

In the study, scientists gave mice a chemical to make their skin itchy, then watched how the nerves in their spinal cord reacted to scratching and rubbing.  They found that rubbing an itch sends the same signal to your brain as scratching it and offers relief.
