Louisiana and New Orleans icon, ‘Morgus the Magnificent’ has died at the age of 90.
Sidney Noel Rideau, who also went by the name of ‘Sid Noel’, created the mad scientist fictional character of Morgus the Magnificent. Morgus became a New Orleans icon as a “horror host” of late-night science fiction movies from the late 1950s into the 1980s. He was assisted by a quintessential executioner-style sidekick known as ‘Chopsley’.
According to his daughter, Rideau died of natural causes.
