AMC Will Reopen Theaters on August 20th with 15-Cent Movies

AMC will reopen more than 100 movie theaters on August 20th and to celebrate, they’re offering “movies in 2020 at 1920 prices” on Opening Day.  So, each ticket will cost just 15 CENTS.

Why 1920?  It’s actually NOT a reference to the last pandemic, the 1918 Spanish flu.  It’s to commemorate the company’s centennial.  AMC Theatres was founded 100 years ago in Kansas City.

The 100 theaters are roughly one-sixth of AMC’s locations.  Around 300 additional AMC locations are expected to open over the following two weeks.  The theaters will re-open in phases, beginning at reduced capacity.
