ESPN is reporting that the Washington NFL team still has not settled on a name, but will call itself the “Washington Football Team” until they do.
The breaking news was produced by Adam Schefter citing league sources. “Washington Football Team” will not be the final renaming and branding for the team, but just a filler until the team makes an official decision.
Of course, the team was formerly known as the Washington Redskins. The Redskins name was adopted in 1933.
