CDC: Multi-State Salmonella Outbreak from Unknown Source

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced a multi-state investigation into an outbreak of salmonella infections.

 
 

According to the CDC, the outbreak was identified on July 10 and has grown to affect 125 people across 15 states.  24 people have been hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported.  Oregon has the highest number of reported illnesses so far with 42.  Utah is the next closest with 28 reported illnesses.

The CDC announced a partnered investigation on Tuesday.  As of publication, the investigation has yet to identify a source of the infections.
