New Iberia Police say a man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred at a Church’s Fried Chicken restaurant in New Iberia.
According to police, officers were notified of a shooting around 10:15 pm Tuesday night at the Chruch’s Fried Chicken restaurant in New Iberia. Officers found a female victim with a single gunshot wound. The Iberia Parish coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
52-year-old Clarence Joseph Payton was arrested Wednesday morning and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on one count of 1st-degree murder.
