Lafayette Police have announced the arrest of a man in connection to a shooting that occurred just before noon Tuesday at the intersection of Johnston St. and Garfield St.

18-year-old Jeremy George Jr. has been arrested for Attempted 1st Degree Murder and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to their lower torso and was transported to a local hospital. Police have not mentioned further information on the recovery of the victim.
