The Gueydan Duck Festival has made it official. The 2020 festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and complications of organizing an event without knowing the status of any restrictions in late August.
Much like other festivals in the area, the Gueydan Duck Festival has to schedule bands, vendors, the carnival, and most importantly sponsors.
“hosting a successful festival would not be possible. Following the guidelines currently in place by the State of Louisiana and a large amount of unknown information regarding future guidelines. Also, with the current economic status we felt that contacting our sponsors for donations at this time may have a detrimental effect on our future festivals.”
