With the 24th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints selected OL Cesar Ruiz out of Michigan.
While it may not be a “sexy” pick, the Saints picked up the versatile offensive lineman to help secure a line that’s been shuffled around a lot over the last few years. Retirements and injuries have plagued the big boys upfront for the Saints and, let’s face it, the offensive line was a significant reason New Orleans lost to Minnesota last season.
With an aging and less mobile Drew Brees, it may not be the most popular pick, but it’s certainly a practical one.
