Ragin’ Cajuns Game-Day Workers to be Hired on at Super 1 Grocery Stores During COVID-19 Pandemic

Ragin’ Cajuns have partnered up with Super 1 Foods to employ game-day workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While only essential businesses remain open around the country and sports competitions canceled, Louisiana Athletics and Super 1 Foods have entered into a unique partnership.  The Ragin’ Cajuns’ hourly-paid game-day employees, which include ushers, parking attendants, and university community personnel, will have the opportunity to be hired on with local Super 1 Food stores.

“We are grateful for the partnership with Super 1 Foods that clearly extends beyond sport,” said Nico Yantko, Deputy Director of Athletics/External Operations. “These are unfortunate and unique circumstances for everyone, and it is really special knowing that Super 1 Foods is willing and able to help keep many of our event and concessions workers employed during this challenging time. Hats off to Brad Brookshire and his leadership at Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods. It’s collaborations like this that help propel our communities forward, together.”

“We are very proud to partner with the Ragin’ Cajuns, on and off the field,” said Brad Brookshire, Chairman and CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co., parent-company of Super 1 Foods. “The Ragin’ Cajun employees are a class act and a perfect fit for Super 1 Foods. We are honored to have them working alongside us as we take care of our customers and Acadiana communities during these unprecedented times.”
