China Evacuee in Texas Confirmed with Coronavirus

A person that was recently evacuated from Wuhan, China – the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, has been diagnosed with the virus.

Federal officials say the unidentified patient was evacuated last week and developed a fever on February 11.  The patient was transferred to an unnamed hospital where he or she was diagnosed with the virus.

“The individual is currently isolated and receiving medical care at a designated hospital nearby,” – Center for Disease Control and Prevention

Officials say the risk of the virus to get to the general public is low, but there will likely be additional cases as more people are returning from China.

This is the 14th case of coronavirus in the United States.   Other cases have been confirmed in California, Wisconsin, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Illinois.  No deaths have been reported in the U.S.
