Krystal Burger Chain Files for Bankruptcy

Krystal Company filed for bankruptcy last week.

The company, based out of Georgia, says it owes between $50-$100 million to food and equipment suppliers.  Officials say the downturn in business is due to shifting consumer taste, growing costs, tight labor markets, and the growth of online food ordering.  The company said it doesn’t plan to close down any additional locations.

Krystal currently operates in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
