Do you remember our original story of the Crawfish invasion in Michigan? If not check it out HERE. Residents in Michigan were freaking out over a crawfish or crayfish as they called them. So Acadiana, did what Acadiana does….went up to Vicksburg, Michigan to lend a hand!

From Lafayette Travel’s Official Press ReleaseLafayette Travel and The Cajun Table have returned from a 2,000-mile round trip excursion to Vicksburg, Michigan for ‘Cray Day’. Residents packed Sunset Lake Park to experience Cajun culture firsthand…and for many, try their first crawfish étouffée. The festival has been picked up media across the country, even popping up in an article from Food & Wine Magazine. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources say they feel the day was very beneficial in getting the word out about “why” Michigan treats the ‘red swamp crayfish’ as a threat, rather than a delicacy like many do in Louisiana”  Check out Lafayette Travel’s FULL STORY!
