Caleb Lege, Scott PD

Click HERE to nominate a LEO!!  Cyndi wrote, Sgt Caleb Lege began his career with Lafayette Sheriff’s Office in 1999 and within and year and a half became a supervisor in the Communications Division. He was tasked with training new dispatchers to assist officers while on patrol. He joined Scott Police Department in 2004 as a patrol officer protecting the citizens of Scott. In 2007, Sgt. Lege was shot in the line of duty and survived earning a Policeman’s Purple Heart and Medal of Merit. In 2008, he became the first permanent Resource Officer at Acadiana High where he was solely responsible for the safety of over 2000 staff and students. He took a special interest in mentoring juveniles and would often assist in their troubles at home and in school. When he finally moved on, he was promoted to detective where in 4 years he recovered over $1 million in stolen money & merchandise with an average 60% solve rate (National average is about 40%). Sgt Lege currently serves as a supervisor for Scott PD. Since November 2016, he has digitized most of the department’s paperwork, cutting down the use of paper products, designed and maintains the departments website, and continues to improve the efficiency of the department. Sgt. Lege is a husband, father, and grandfather that takes pride in his work, his family, and his community. He is an asset to Scott and Acadiana law enforcement.
