Lafayette City Marshal Reggie Thomas is once again answering the call to serve with the 6th Annual Drive-Thru Backpack Giveaway, taking place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at Destiny of Faith Church, located at 409 Patterson Street, Lafayette, LA. Families from across Lafayette Parish are invited to drive through and receive clear or mesh backpacks filled with essential school supplies. As always, children must be present in the vehicle to receive a backpack.
